Step 1. Cleaning and preparation of the support.

Ensure that the surface is level and consolidated. Clean and dry the substrate.

Step 2. Fill joints.

In tiles, fill the joints with Primacem Joint. Let it dry for 24 hours and sand with 40 grit.

Step 3. Priming.

Apply 1 coat of primer. Primacem Plus for non-absorbent surfaces, Primacem ABS for absorbents. Allow to dry between 30 minutes and 2 hours.

Step 4. First layer of ready-to-use microcement Efectto Quartz Big Grain.

Apply the first layer of ready-to-use microcement with a trowel Efectto Quartz Big Grain pigmented. Allow to dry between 4 and 8 hours. Sand with 40 grain.

Step 5. Second layer of ready-to-use microcement Efectto Quartz Big Grain.

Apply a second layer of ready-to-use microcement with a trowel Efectto Quartz Big Grain pigmented. Allow to dry again between 4 and 8 hours. Sand afterwards with 40 grain.

Step 6. Single layer microcement ready to use Efectto Quartz Small Grain.

Apply 1 layer of ready-to-use microcement with a trowel Efectto Quartz Small Grain pigmented. Allow to dry between 4 and 8 hours. Sand with 120 grit (machine) or 220 grit (by hand).

Step 7. Sealing

Protect the support with the varnish Topsealer WT All in One. Apply 3 coats, 4 for damp areas and high traffic areas. Sand the first coat with 400 grit. Allow to dry for 3 hours between coats.

Step 1. Cleaning and preparation of the support.

Check that the surface is level and consolidated. Clean and dry the support.

Step 2. Fill joints.

Filling the joints of tiles and wall tiles with Primacem Joint. Let it dry for 24 hours and sand with 40 grit.

Step 3. Priming.

Apply 1 coat of primer. Primacem ABS for absorbent surfaces and Primacem Plus for non-absorbent, Allow to dry for a minimum of 30 minutes, a maximum of 2 hours.

Step 4. First layer of ready-to-use microcement Efectto Quartz Super Grain.

Apply a first layer of ready-to-use microcement with a trowel Efectto Quartz Super Grain pigmented. Allow between 4 and 8 hours to dry. Sand with 40 grain.

Step 5. Second layer of ready-to-use microcement Efectto Quartz Super Grain.

Apply the second layer of ready-to-use microcement with a trowel Efectto Quartz Super Grain pigmentada. After a drying time between 4 and 8 hours, sand with 40 grain.

Apply a single layer of ready-to-use microcement with a trowel Efectto Quartz Medium Grain pigmented. Allow to dry for 4-8 hours and sand with 120 grit (machine) or 220 grit (by hand).

Step 7. Sealing.

Use the varnish Topsealer WT All in One to protect the support. Apply 3 coats, 4 for damp or high traffic areas. Use 400 grit to sand the first coat. Allow to dry for 3 hours between coats.

Its artisanal application is carried out in several layers using a trowel. It is suitable for applications indoors and outdoors, on vertical and horizontal surfaces.

A ready-to-use microcement that you can use alone or as a complement to, for example, the line Sttandard since they have completely different finishes, colours and textures.

How is the ready-to-use microcement applied? Efectto Quartz?

Before the application of ready-to-use microcement Efectto Quartz, it will be necessary to prepare the surface with a primer.

The application of Efectto Quartz it is carried out in several layers with a trowel, both in interior and exterior spaces and on vertical and horizontal surfaces as long as they are levelled and consolidated.

It's important that the layers are thin otherwise cracks could occur. There should be between 4 and 8 hours of drying time between each layer.

Once the product is dry, it must be sealed with Topsealer WT All in One of finish.

The following must be taken into account:

Never apply on natural wood or supports made up of pieces that may expand differently.
The support must be consolidated.
The surface must be dry, free of dust and grease.
The planimetry of the support will determine the final appearance.

What happens if there are joints?

In the event that there are joints, it will be necessary to level the surface with the pasted microcement Efectto Super Grain. If the joints are too wide, a low shrinkage repair mortar will have to be used.

No, it can only be purchased pigmented from the purchase of 1000 kg of material, otherwise the pigment or colour of the coating is purchased separately.

To pigment the pasty microcement Efectto Quartz, it can be done manually vigorously and the entirety of the pigment should be poured into the bucket and stirred until a homogeneous mixture is achieved.

Can mesh be used with Efectto Quartz?

Mesh cannot be used as it is a decorative coating designed to be applied in a thin layer. It is very important to always respect the drying times of the ready-to-use microcement. Efectto Quartz to achieve its maximum performance.

What can happen if I put mesh in the ready-to-use microcement?

How to preserve the quality of leftover pasted microcement?

Can microcement paste be applied over radiant floor?

Yes, microcement is perfectly compatible with underfloor heating. In fact, it is one of the best materials for it. However, a start-up protocol must be carried out to avoid pavement cracks due to temperature changes.

The start-up protocol will be as follows:

1. Turn on the heating at least 4 weeks after the cement mortar has been laid.

2. Keep the water entering the circuits at 25 °C for 2 or 3 days. Then, gradually increase the water temperature to 45 °C and maintain it for several days.

3. Turn off the heating at least 48 h before starting the microcement installation. The maximum floor temperature should be 18 °C.

Microcement pavements must be applied on cementitious mortars that have reached an advanced stage of setting. This happens after three or four weeks, depending on the weather. In any case, we must ensure that the mortar is practically dry. For this, there must be a maximum of 5% humidity in the support, which we will check with a relative humidity meter.

We recommend using quality self-levelling cement mortars.

Supports with powdery mortars are not suitable as the state of the application base must be consistent and otherwise it will need to be consolidated.

After applying the microcement, we should wait at least 48 hours before gradually turning the heating back on (+5 °C each day).

Always change the temperature gradually at the beginning and end of the heating usage period.

Make sure the relative humidity of the air in the rooms is not too low.

Always avoid heat build-up caused by carpets and rugs or lack of space between furniture and the floor.

Important! Between the slab and the vertical walls there will always be an expansion joint so that it can expand. If this indication is not respected, cracks may appear.
