Covercem® offers different types of coatings for the renovation, protection, consolidation and restoration of mineral and cementitious substrates. High-performance products for restoration, heritage and theming. Some of them give anti-slip finishes to the materials on which they are applied, as is the case with stamped concrete.

Concrete repair mortars and mineral consolidating coatings designed to renew the most worn substrates due to the passage of time, as well as constant exposure to different weather conditions. A line of products that allows professionals to restore and decorate concrete walls and floors at the same time. And also other substrates such as natural stone, brick, limestone, stamped concrete and other mortars.

Repair mortars for concrete that stand out for their excellent mechanical properties and resistance to abrasion. An aesthetic renewal to which must be added, in some cases, a water-repellent effect that helps to protect the treated substrate from water.

These products have excellent adhesion on cementitious and mineral substrates and are ideal for outdoor application because they are highly resistant to weathering and UV radiation. Likewise, their hardness and ease of application are other elements that best define them. Concrete repair mortars and mineral consolidants that do not crack.

Four products make up Topciment's Covercem® line: Covercem® Stone, Covercem® Texture, Covercem® Restaura, Covercem® Monocrom and Covercem® Xtrem.

Covercem® Stone

Concrete repair mortar Covercem® Stone

Covercem® Stone is a thin-bed concrete repair mortar. Although it is applied in layers only 1 to 2 mm thick, it has excellent mechanical properties and abrasion resistance. It is also very hard and does not crack.

This aesthetic renovation mortar can be applied on a multitude of mineral and porous substrates, as it has an unbeatable adhesion. It also provides a great consolidating effect on deteriorated substrates, at the same time as it gives them a water-repellent protection.

It offers finishes with different textures, including non-slip. A concrete repair mortar that, given its mineral character, is highly breathable and fireproof. With Covercem® Stone, it is possible to renovate and transform vertical surfaces and paving made of concrete, stamped concrete, brick, natural stone, etc.

An ideal coating for the repair and surface renovation of pedestrian walkways, terraces, swimming pool decks or stairs, among others. Easy to apply and perfect for outdoor use, thanks to its resistance to UV radiation.

Based on selected aggregates, portland cement and high performance additives, this concrete repair mortar can be pigmented with our Arcocem® pastes. Available in matt finish.

The performance of Covercem® Stone concrete repair mortar depends on the roughness and porosity of the substrate and the method of application. Approximately 1.5 - 1.8 kg/m²/mm.

Where to use Covercem® Stone® concrete repair mortar

As an aesthetic renovation mortar for restoration, heritage and theming.

For the renovation and repair of stamped concrete, natural stone, brick and other mineral and cementitious substrates.

Surface and aesthetic repair of corners, damaged edges, spalling and small cracks.

Concrete repair mortar suitable for walls, floors and facades. Indoors and outdoors.

Can be used on walkways, footpaths, pavements, patios, terraces, pool decks, stairs, walls and floors.

How to apply Covercem® Stone® Concrete Repair Mortar

1. Protect the perimeter and areas where Covercem® Stone concrete repair mortar is not to be used. Especially if the substrates are metal, lacquered, glass or wood.

2. Clean the substrate of dust, grease or dirt. Use Ecoclean Construction diluted 1:4 in water to remove hygroscopic salts, efflorescence, mould, etc. For more general dirt, grease or pollution marks, use Ecoclean Pro diluted 1:4 with water.

3. If the substrate is varnished or painted, remove the coating by sanding or stripping. If repair or sealing of joints is necessary, do this before applying Covercem® Stone.

4. Mix the mortar with water in the following proportions: 20 kg of COVERCEM® STONE to 6 L of water. Add the water beforehand to a container and, with mechanical agitation at low speed, gradually add the mortar until a homogeneous, lump-free mixture is obtained.

5. Leave the mixture to stand for 3 to 5 minutes. Then stir again. In the case of porous surfaces, moisten the substrate without leaving puddles.

6. Covercem® Stone is a colourless concrete repair mortar. Pre-pigment the water with Arcocem® Basic or Arcocem® Plus pigments, depending on the desired colour.

7. Apply two coats of Covercem® Stone at a room temperature and substrate temperature of between 5ºC and 30ºC. Without excessive wind. Allow to dry for 4 to 6 hours between coats.

8. Once the substrate has dried after the application of the concrete repair mortar, proceed with the sealing. Protect the floor or wall with two coats of our Sealcem® WT or Sealcem® DSV varnishes.

9. The total curing time of Covercem® Stone is between 7 and 14 days.

If you want to achieve a contrasting effect that more closely resembles the stamped mortar, you can use the dispenser with Desmocem® Liquid with colour. The substrate must be dry and clean after the second coat of Covercem® Stone has been applied.

If saturated areas of coloured release agent are visible, either at the time of application or after the substrate has dried, apply Desmocem® Liquid without colour to reduce unevenness.

Precautions for the concrete repair mortar Covercem® Stone

It is a concrete repair mortar that we do not recommend placing on surfaces previously painted with other systems. We are referring to plastic paints, epoxies, polyurethanes, varnishes, etc. In these cases, the previous coating must be removed before applying Covercem® Stone.

Powdered product whose packaging must be disposed of in accordance with legal regulations. Close immediately after each use so that it does not dry out or thicken.

The following measures are recommended for the application of this concrete repair mortar:

Ensure good ventilation at the time of application.

Wear a dust mask, FFPP2 or FFP3.

To avoid inopportune splashes, wear protective goggles.

Protect hands with rubber gloves.

Covercem® Texture thin-layer concrete repair mortar

Covercem® Texture is a mortar for the decoration and repair of thin-layer surfaces up to 3 mm thick. A product that creates equally textured finishes on natural stone, polished concrete and facades, both indoors and outdoors.

Due to its mineral character and the fact that it does not form a film, it is a highly breathable and fire-resistant concrete repair mortar. It also has a very good adhesion on mineral and porous substrates. But one of its most notorious particularities is that it confers a water-repellent protection to the treated substrate.

Fully pigmentable with Arcocem® pigment pastes. Incredible aesthetic renovation mortar for restoration, heritage and theming. Based on selected aggregates, portland cement and high quality additives, it is perfect for creating anti-slip and textured finishes on stamped concrete, brick and natural stone.

A concrete repair mortar that offers high mechanical and abrasion resistance. Highly recommended for repairing the most worn mineral substrates. It also guarantees extraordinary hardness and does not crack. Available in a matt finish and highly resistant to abrasion, weathering and sunlight.

Mineral polishing binder Covercem® Xtrem

Covercem® Xtrem is a mineral consolidating coating with lithium nano silicate and special polysiloxanes. It is designed for the consolidation and waterproofing of mineral substrates, mortars, stamped concrete, polished concrete, brick, natural stone, microcement, etc.

The main feature of this mineral consolidant for polishing is that it makes the substrates water-repellent. In this way, it considerably increases its protection against water as well as different atmospheric agents such as humidity, water or wind. A product that due to this singularity is suitable for exteriors, especially for polished concrete due to its finish.

A fireproof mineral consolidant with high penetrability in mineral substrates and a great consolidation power by means of crystallisation and solidification. Protects and consolidates mineral substrates in restoration, heritage and theming.

It does not affect the colour of the substrate at all, thus respecting the original texture of the substrate. Furthermore, it does not allow substances or liquids to penetrate the substrates, preventing the possible appearance of permanent stains. Totally ecological, free of biocides and hazardous substances. Fast drying to the touch, between 1 and 2 hours at 23ºC.

Covercem® mortar and consolidant colours

The concrete repair mortars and mineral consolidating coatings belonging to the Covercem® family share the same range of colours. With the exception of Covercem® Xtrem. A total of 24 shades which, depending on the varnish applied to the coating, offer one finish or another. In the samples on the left, a water-based varnish (WT) has been applied, in the samples on the right, a solvent-based varnish (DSV).
