Microcement is a coating that is applied in several layers, two types of material according to their function: preparatory microcement which is the first to be used and serves to condition the substrate and finishing microcement which gives the final appearance. Within the finishing microcements there are different textures: Microfino, Microdeck, Microstone and Aquaciment M. Each material has its particularities and tools to work it.
Preparatory microcement:
Application of Microbase or in swimming pools, AquacimentXL
It will be applied in two coats using a steel trowel in layers of 1
millimetre maximum.
We must always respect the mixing proportions of the quick
guide.
Allow to dry for 24 hours between coats. Sand each coat to remove
irregularities with 40 grit sandpaper. If we wait too long, this work will be more expensive. If
we leave the surface uneven, we will make it difficult to apply the next coat, leaving marks on
the coating.
Let dry 24 hours before applying the finishing microcement
Let dry 24 hours before applying the finishing microcement.
Microcemento de acabado:
Application of Microfino
Apply Microfino over Microbase in one or two coats, with a rubber or flexible steel trowel depending on the desired decorative effect. Always respect the mixing proportions of the quick guide.
Let dry 3 hours between coats. Sand manually or with a roto-orbital sander with 120 to 220 grit sandpaper. If we sand the same day as the application of the microfine microcement, the mortar will still be fresh, we will use 220 grit sandpaper. If we sand the following day, the coating will be harder and we will use 120 grit sandpaper.
Application of Microdeck
Apply Microdeck over Microbase in two coats, with a flexible steel trowel.
Always respect the mixing ratios of the Quick Guide
.
Before applying the second coat, wait 3 hours for the previous
coat to dry and sand lightly. Sand manually or with a roto-orbital sander with
80 grit sandpaper. Do not exceed an application thickness per coat of 0.5 mm for
Microdeck. A total system thickness of 2 to 3 mm is recommended.
Application of Microstone
Apply Microstone over Microbase in two coats, with a flexible steel trowel. For
this type of application it will be sufficient to prepare the substrate with one
coat of Microbase. We must always respect the mixing proportions of the
quick guide. Use 40-grit sandpaper to remove
irregularities.
Do not exceed an application thickness per coat of 1 mm for
Microstone. A total system thickness of 2 to 3 mm is recommended.
Application of Aquaciment
Aquaciment M is applied over Aquaciment XL in two coats, with a flexible steel trowel. We must always respect the mixing proportions of the quick guide.
We will use 80 grit sandpaper to eliminate irregularities.
Do not exceed an application thickness per coat of 1 mm for Aquaciment. A total system thickness of 2 to 3 mm is recommended.
